This collection of giant concretions were formed when sandstone, cemented by calcite, built up around a small piece of organic matter and continued to grow. The largest of these 200 “cannonball concretions" measures 27-feet in diameter. Registered as a natural landmark since 1978, this 5-acre park encourages people to climb and explore the three clusters of Dakota sandstone concretions.
