We love a good wildlife festival and that’s especially true when the Oroville Salmon Festival rolls around each fall. We were thrilled to see thousands show up at the Feather River Fish Hatchery on Saturday, Sept. 27 to celebrate salmon, the Feather River and the local community. CDFW staff offered guided hatchery tours and conducted a special Saturday spawning of spring-run Chinook salmon for all to see and learn about. CDFW-permitted wildlife rehabilitators play a critical role in helping injured, orphaned and sick wild animals return to the wild. CDFW considers them partners in the conservation of California’s native wildlife. On Sept. 26, two bald eagles were returned to the wild thanks to the dedicated wildlife rehabilitation team at Tri-County Wildlife Care.
