The Utah NHL team has narrowed its name options to Utah Hockey Club, Utah Mammoth, and Utah Wasatch. The name "Utah Yeti" was dropped due to trademark issues with the cooler brand Yeti.

Per the USPTO records, Utah Yetis was rejected on Jan. 9 for “likelihood of confusion” with other registered marks, namely the Yeti cooler company.
