The six-week absentee voting period for April 8 municipal elections in Missouri opened Tuesday. Jasper County Clerk Charlie Davis said voters can cast ballots if they won’t be able to make it to the polls on election day.

Absentee voting begins Tuesday, February 25, for the April 8 General Municipal Election. For the first four weeks of the absentee voting period, voters will need a valid excuse to vote absentee. According to the Greene County Clerk’s office,

Absentee voting is now open for the April General Municipal Election in Buchanan County, Missouri. In order to request an absentee ballot in Buchanan County, visit co.buchanan.mo.us/absentee-ballots and download the request form.

The next election is still several weeks away, but it’s not too early to make your voice heard. Jasper County Clerk Charlie Davis says absentee voting for the April 8 election begins Tuesday. You can cast your ballot at his offices in both Carthage and Joplin.

Residents can start casting absentee ballots in person at the St. Louis County Board of Elections office starting Tuesday morning. Additionally, voters can request absentee ballots by mail.

Absentee voting with an excuse has started in St. Louis County. A measure giving the St. Louis County Council the power to fire department heads is on the ballot. There are also aldermen and council spots in cities throughout the county.
