Heavy rain, flooding and a rock slide have again closed a section of the major cross country highway Interstate 40 along its narrow corridor through the Great Smoky Mountains

Traffic along Interstate 40 in Cocke County is being diverted due to a possible rockslide, the Tennessee Department of Transportation announced.

Another I-40 rockslide means drivers must seek alternate routes in Cocke County. A reopening date has not been set.

Much of the Chicago area is under a flood watch after a line of strong storms dumped inches of rain in just a handful of hours.

With several potential rounds of showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe, most of the Chicago area is now under a flood watch.
