Trailing five games to four in the third set on the verge of getting broken for the loss, de Minaur served to Fokina with the title in the balance.
Alex de Minaur ended Corentin Moutet’s “lucky loser” run at the DC Open, while Ben Shelton fell short of advancing to the final.
