The NWSL Players Association has demanded that the league update its policy on game postponements in the wake of a medical event during Angel City's win over the Utah Royals on Friday, with defender Savy King later undergoing surgery to correct a heart abnormality.

The NWSL Players Association said that play should have been stopped in the game between Angel City FC and the Utah Royals on Friday following the nearly 10-minute delay to provide medical attention to Savy King.

Angel City defender Savy King was recovering from heart surgery on Tuesday following her collapse on the field during a National Women’s Soccer League match on Friday night.
