LAS VEGAS — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day continues to see the Buckeyes ’ starting quarterback competition between Lincoln Kienholz and Julian Sayin as neck and neck.

Smith is the most dynamic player in the country, but like many top contenders this season, Ohio State will be breaking in a new quarterback. Julian Sayin takes over for Will Howard.

Sayin is 5-of-12 in his career for 84 yards with one touchdown. Kienholz is entering his third season at Ohio State and is 5-of-10 for 111 yards.
