BANGKOK/BEIJING: A Chinese actor who went missing near Myanmar’s border with Thailand and fell victim to a human trafficking network has boarded a flight home.

Many Chinese tourists are reconsidering their plans to visit Thailand during the upcoming Lunar New Year due to safety concerns following the disappearance of Chinese actor Wang Xing who was later rescued.

The Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai, Thailand told the Global Times on Tuesday evening that Tak Immigration met with the Chinese actor Wang Xing who had gone missing at the Thailand-Myanmar border and is currently conducting relevant inquiries in accordance with regulations.
