Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into whether Beto O’Rourke’s political group, Powered by People, is breaking laws by funding Texas Democrats’ out-of-state travel attempting to stop the passage of the new Republican-favored congressional maps.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Wednesday that he's launched an investigation into a political action committee founded by Beto O'Rourke, accusing the group of illegally financing out-of-state travel for Texas House Democrats who fled the state in an effort to block a redistricting vote.

The investigation targets the Soros-funded Texas Majority PAC, which he accused of potentially bribing the Democratic legislators and coordinating illegal fundraising. The second group was founded by former O'Rourke staffers.
