Twins righthander Joe Ryan struck out two in retiring the side in order in the fourth inning Tuesday night in Atlanta, excelling on the big stage.

ATLANTA — Joe Ryan pitched a perfect fourth inning with a pair of strikeouts in his MLB All-Star Game debut, while Minnesota Twins teammate Byron Buxton doubled and scored in the ninth inning to help the American League erase a six-run deficit Tuesday night at Truist Field in Atlanta.

Buxton is the son of Felton and Carrie Buxton. His father, Felton, made his living as a truck driver, eventually owning a trucking company. Byron has paid homage to his father with a truck driver celebration after home runs.
