SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Apple renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America on its maps Tuesday after an order by President Donald Trump was made official by the U.S. Geographic Names Information System.

The change comes weeks after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to officially change the gulf's name in the U.S. Geographic Names Information System. But it won't affect all users — here's what to know.

Apple Maps changed the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America on its maps Tuesday, one day after Google Maps made the change as well. According to Bloomberg, the change was first made in the U.S. but changes to the map will be made elsewhere soon.
