Equinor to start rock stabilization around the site of each of 54 planned offshore wind turbines near Long Beach to ensure stability and protect against erosion.

Turbines above the height standard in the FAA’s review area constitute a “very small percentage” of Empire Wind 1’s 54 turbines, and are in the northwest section of the proposed array.

Equinor is one of three companies that holds leases to build floating wind turbines in the 376-square-mile Morro Bay Wind Energy Area about 20 miles offshore of Cambria and San Simeon.
