When crews arrived at the home near Broadway and Sossaman roads around 1:30 a.m., they encountered heavy fire conditions, according to the Mesa Fire and Medical Department.

The fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. at a home near Main Street and Hawes Road east of Mesa. When firefighters with Rural Metro Fire arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames.
