Tensions between the governments of Kenya and Sudan have continued to escalate after Rapid Support Forces (RSF) meetings hosted in Nairobi. RSF went on to sign a “political agreement” charter with its affiliates to establish a “governmental authority” in the areas controlled by the para-military group.

Kenya’s storied legacy as a pillar of African liberation now stands at a dangerous crossroads after extending diplomatic recognition to the Sudanese RSF militia.

Sudan has recalled its ambassador to Kenya Kamal Jubara after Nairobi hosted the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). It also vowed escalatory measures following the move by RSF to establish a parallel government while in Nairobi.
