The victim, a 25-year-old Washtenaw County man, was being treated for multiple gunshot wounds when he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said. The preliminary investigation indicated the man was shot in the area of Ecorse Road near Michigan Avenue in the City of Ypsilanti, police said.

Police received a call a few minutes after 5 p.m. about a male victim with a gunshot wound during a possible attempted carjacking near 63rd and Vine streets. Police responded and took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead just after 5:30 p.m., Philadelphia Police Captain Shawn Butts said.
