Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen took home that hardware at the 2024 NFL Honors ceremony. Allen, 28, already signed one big contract extension in his career and he’s eventually going to do so again with the Bills. But making the MVP win even sweeter for Buffalo’s QB was the payment he got for it.

He's the third Bills player to win the award, joining Thurman Thomas in 1991 and O.J. Simpson in 1973.

A finalist for the fourth time, Allen wins his first NFL MVP award and becomes the first Buffalo Bill to secure the honor in 33 years. Running back Thurman Thomas was the 1991 winner and the late OJ Simpson earned the award in 1973. Both men are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Allen, 28, is the third Bills player to win league MVP, joining Hall of Fame running backs Thurman Thomas (1991) and O.J. Simpson (1973). Bills fullback Cookie Gilchrist (1962) and quarterback Jack Kemp (1965) won league MVP honors during Buffalo's years in the AFL, which merged with the NFL after the 1969 season.

Josh Allen had another incredible season in 2024 as he led the Buffalo Bills to a 13-4 record and the AFC championship game where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. Allen's performance throughout the year made him the MVP after he was voted the most overrated quarterback in the league in an anonymous ESPN poll during the preseason.
