In a late-stage reveal, Star Wars has confirmed that Ben Solo and Rey Skywalker were communicating through the Force during Ben's movie death.

The relationship between Rey and Ben has been subject to much speculation among Star Wars fans.It’s not quite an outright romance, though there are certainly romantic elements.

Even though Rey refuses to join Ben, the two still clearly care about each other. The Rise of Skywalker takes things a giant step further, ending their intertwined journey with a kiss.
