A Mississippi family was reunited with their beloved pet spider monkey after dozens of volunteers joined in the 24 hour search and tracked down the pesky primate with thermal cameras and hunting dogs.

Police said the victim who was nicked by the monkey refused medical treatment. No other details, including information about the dog attack, were released.

The small, black monkey bit a Telephone Road resident after being bitten by a dog, according to officials with HPD and BARC, which turned the animal over to a local wildlife center.
