The National Hurricane Center's website and maps now reflect the official name (at least in the U.S.) of the Gulf of America.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is in the process of renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, in line with President Trump's recent executive order. Why it matters: The move could complicate forecasts NOAA provides for hurricanes that affect Mexico and other countries outside U.

The National Weather Service's maps, charts, websites and other weather products will "as quickly as possible" bear the name Gulf of America.
