Gibson Guitars on Tuesday (Dec. 14) released the first for-sale versions of Megadeth bandleader Dave Mustaine 's new signature instruments with the Tennessee-based guitar manufacturer.

First approached by Gibson in 2020, Mustaine began working with the company to design the Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP, availible in two colors.

Reflecting on his first Flying V purchase, Hammett recounted the unexpected nudge he received while on a date. "I remember I was going out with this one girl at the time," he says.
