Anyone who has been wanting to meet the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's newest baby giraffe won't have to wait any longer.

The male giraffe calf born last week can now be seen by visitors while a naming contest raises funds for conservation of the vulnerable species.

Kipepeo (pronounced kee-peh-PEH-oh), a four-year-old reticulated giraffe affectionately called “Kipi,” stunned her keepers when she gave birth to a healthy female calf on March 27.

Aside from helping name the baby giraffe, the Denver Zoo is offering another way fans can show their support. In honor of BB and her calf, supporters will soon be able to symbolically adopt an animal.
