Gravell announced his resignation at the county Commissioners Court meeting. District Judge Betsy Lambeth swore Gravell into his new office as advocate a few minutes after Gravell resigned.

Candidate interviews will begin during a special-called meeting March 27 at 2:30 p.m. in the Williamson County Courthouse.

A special session will be held Friday to accept Gravell's resignation and to discuss appointing a new county judge.
