Salt Lake City has adopted three new flags in an attempt to skirt around the state’s ban on flying the LGBTQ+ flag and others at public state buildings.

The Democratic controlled cities of Salt Lake City and Boise adopted new city flags this week that show support for LGBTQ+ people in defiance of new laws passed by their states’ Republican-controlled Legislatures that banned the traditional rainbow pride flags at schools and government buildings.
