Kurt Kitayama began the weekend at the 3M Open eight shots back of the leader, having made the cut by just one shot at 6 under after the first two rounds. The former UNLV standout then produced one of the best weekend performances of the 2025 season to secure his second career win on the PGA Tour.

Kitayama carded 20 birdies on the weekend, the most birdies or better made on the weekend by a Tour winner since 2003, and finished with a 72-hole total of 23-under 261 for his second PGA Tour title.

Kitayama won the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational for his first Tour victory, and navigated the 18th hold delicately on Sunday, needing par for victory. He hit his second shot into a green-side bunker, but got to within 17 feet from there on the par-5 hole and two-putted for the win.
