Fluminense have moved their way into the Club World Cup's semifinal after causing another shock in the tournament. The Brazilian club defeated Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal 2-1. They had earlier defeated Inter Milan in the round of 16.

Martinelli put Fluminense in front in the 40th minute with a brilliant strike. His first touch took Gabriel Fuentes’s pass beyond a charging Al Hilal defender, and his second unleashed a ferocious left-footed shot that beat goalkeeper Yassine Bounou to the top right corner from about 15 yards (14 metres).

Fluminense and Al Hilal will square off today, July 4, at 3 p.m. ET in the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
