Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is holding the House floor in a speech that has already run for more than an hour, delaying what GOP leaders hoped would be a quick march to the final vote on President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

After casting their “no” votes, reporters saw both Fitzpatrick and Self immediately leave the chamber. Johnson and leadership are now tasked with tracking down the dissenters and holdouts to convince them that the “big, beautiful bill” is the “best product we could produce” in order to move forward.

By Wednesday evening, enough Republicans remained opposed to the Senate’s version of the bill to effectively stall its passage in the House.
