Students organized the walk out and rally to honor the life of Josselin Corea Escalante and to fight for gun laws

Police said a male student shot two people at the high school on Wednesday morning before turning the gun on himself.

Police say a shooting at a Nashville high school has left one student dead and another woulded. Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron said during a news conference that the 17-year-old gunman later shot and killed himself with a handgun.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Tuesday was supposed to be the first day Antioch High School students returned to class after two students were shot and killed in the cafeteria. The day before students were set to return, some shared that most of them were not actually going to go to class.

Antioch High School is located in Nashville's Antioch neighborhood, approximately 17 miles southeast of Downtown Nashville.

Metro Nashville Public Schools says the remainder of the week will not be typical school days for students, staff, and parents as they navigate the emotions of returning to school.

(WSMV) - Antioch High School is set to host a student-led rally on Tuesday to honor the victim of the shooting inside the school’s cafeteria on Jan. 22, 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante. According to Metro Nashville Public Schools, the rally also aims to elevate student voices and advocate for action on key issues.

All schools across Metro Nashville held a moment of silence to honor the victim. President Trump and Elon Musk, two powerful figures, were initially united for the cameras and the "greater good," but their marriage made in heaven has now officially ended due to their conflicting ideologies and egos.
