Actually, Vilnius is twice bigger than Achen, and Have about 800 tousunds with suburbs. Lots of people live in houses or cotegges about 20 km awau from old town. And these hoses often better quality than in Germany

Our favourite restaurant was Kitchen which overlooks the main square, and is accessible via a short archway from the main square - it's a floor above the ground level. Great food (maybe avoid the sausages), great local beers, very friendly service (as in all restaurants in Vilnius) and good atmosphere. Take the whole morning to wander around the Old Town and take in their famous linen and amber offerings in the shops. Lunch at Kitchen and if you feel strong in the legs you could stroll over to Uzupis. But I would take it a bit slower, longer at Kitchen and do Uzupis on the Market day so you can buy some top class black bread and berries. Hope that's helpful.

The vest Way is By train. Then you can walk thru The town towards the castle or it might be some cabs at the station. Also, a bus is an option, train and bus stations are close by.
